Official Gazette Today: Ankara Social Sciences University ASEAN Application and Research Center Regulation Published

ANKARA – A significant regulation from the Executive and Administrative Section was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Turkey, dated June 10, 2025, and numbered 32922. The regulation, prepared by Ankara Social Sciences University and governing the establishment and operation of an important research center related to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), came into force as of today.

Ankara Social Sciences University Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Application and Research Center Regulation

The published regulation was prepared to determine the detailed functioning of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Application and Research Center established within Ankara Social Sciences University.

Purpose: The primary purpose of this Regulation is to regulate the objectives, activity areas, administrative organs, duties of these administrative organs, and working procedures and principles of the Ankara Social Sciences University Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Application and Research Center. This center aims to become an important platform that will academically examine, research, and develop policy recommendations concerning Turkey's relations with ASEAN countries.

Scope: The Regulation covers all operational and administrative aspects of the ASEAN Application and Research Center. All provisions regarding the center's areas of activity, the units involved in its management, the job descriptions of these units, and the general operating procedures of the center have been determined by this regulation. This aims to ensure the center operates transparently, efficiently, and effectively.

This new regulation published in the Official Gazette is considered an indicator of Turkey's emphasis on regional collaborations in international relations. This center, which will contribute to deepening academic studies and political analyses specifically targeting the Southeast Asian region, will also have a structure that strengthens cooperation between the university and public institutions. With the entry into force of the regulation, the center is expected to accelerate its activities and increase Turkey's interactions in the ASEAN region.
