June 1, 2025 Official Gazette: Effective Dates of International Agreements Officially Determined

ANKARA – Within the scope of the Presidential Decrees published in the T.C. Official Gazette dated June 1, 2025, the effective dates of various international agreements signed by the Republic of Turkey have been officially determined. Presidential Decree No. 9925, issued in accordance with Article 3 of Presidential Decree Law No. 9, finalized the effective dates of the agreements listed in the attached annex.

The decree, signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, meticulously specifies the signing locations, dates, and effective dates of the agreements presented in a list format. Such decrees are of great importance for Turkey's fulfillment of its obligations under international law and the regulation of its bilateral/multilateral relations.

Key Agreements and Their Effective Dates under the Decree:

The annex to the Official Gazette contains numerous agreements signed on different dates, whose effective dates have now been determined. These agreements generally reflect Turkey's commitments in the fields of foreign policy, economy, security, and cultural cooperation.

  • Name of the Agreement: "Agreement on International Road Transport between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan"
  • Effective Date of the Agreement: May 31, 2025

• Serial No: 2

  • Signing Date and Place of the Agreement: June 25, 2019, Ankara
  • Name of the Agreement: "Agreement on the Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine"
  • Effective Date of the Agreement: May 31, 2025

• Serial No: 3

  • Signing Date and Place of the Agreement: September 15, 2020, Rome
  • Name of the Agreement: "Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Italian Republic"
  • Effective Date of the Agreement: May 31, 2025

This decision is significant as it officially declares the date on which the aforementioned agreements became legally binding for the Republic of Turkey. These agreements, now in force, are expected to strengthen the legal framework for cooperation and enhance relations between Turkey and the respective countries.
