A symbolic arms surrender ceremony took place in the rural Dukan district near Sulaymaniyah, Iraq.
Historic Ceremony Under International Observation and MİT Presence
This historic event, held near Casana Cave, was attended by a broad observation delegation of approximately 250 people, including press members, writers, academics, politicians, and civil society representatives from both Turkey and Iraq. A particularly noteworthy detail of the ceremony was the presence of National Intelligence Organization (MİT) officials and Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) security forces (IKBY güvenlik güçleri). This presence further solidified the official nature and international oversight of the process.
Members of the terrorist organization gathered in a cave within the borders of Sulaymaniyah's Surdash sub-district, then proceeded to the event area with their weapons. In a symbolic gesture, members of the terrorist organization threw their weapons into a large cauldron with burning fire, destroying them. These images were recorded as an important message indicating the organization's cessation of armed struggle.
