Hava-İş Honors Aviation Martyrs on Commemoration Day, Paying Tribute to the Heroes of Turkish Civil Aviation

The Turkish Civil Aviation Union (Hava-İş) participated in the Aviation Martyrs Commemoration Day ceremony, paying tribute to the heroes who left their mark on Turkish aviation history. The event, held at the martyrs' cemetery, included prayers and a moment of silence in remembrance of those who lost their lives in service.

 

Aviation Martyrs Commemoration Day: A Tradition of Honor

Observed annually on May 15, Aviation Martyrs Commemoration Day honors pilots, technicians, and aviation personnel who sacrificed their lives while serving in the Turkish Air Force. From Fethi Bey, Turkey’s first aviation martyr, to all those who have fallen in the line of duty, this day serves as a solemn reminder of their contributions.

 

Hava-İş’s Statement on the Commemoration

In an official statement, Hava-İş expressed deep gratitude, saying, "We honor all aviation martyrs who defended our nation with their steel wings, ensuring our flag flies high in the skies. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten." The union emphasized the importance of recognizing the dedication of aviation professionals and pledged to continue preserving their legacy.
