Birleşik Kamu-İş Backs Protest Against Proposed Bentonite Mine in Niksar Yazıcık

TOKAT – The Tokat Provincial Representation of the United Public Workers' Confederation (Birleşik Kamu-İş) has joined, for the second time, a protest against the planned bentonite mine project in Yazıcık town, Niksar district, Tokat. The confederation continues its support for the struggle to cancel this project, which threatens the living spaces of the local community.

Joint Resistance from Public and NGOs

The proposed bentonite mine project in Niksar's Yazıcık town faces strong opposition from local residents and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Citizens, united by concerns that the project will harm the town's living areas, agricultural lands, and natural environment, have repeatedly organized protests. Birleşik Kamu-İş Konfederasyonu's Tokat Provincial Representation has bolstered this environmental resistance, strengthening the demand for the project's cancellation.
