📢 An explosion at a flour factory in Çorum injured nine workers. Following the incident, AFAD, health, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area. The injured workers were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Details of the Incident

📢 The explosion occurred in the packaging section of the factory, injuring nine workers, one of whom is in critical condition.

📌 According to reports, the explosion happened at a flour packaging machine on Erzurumdede Street due to unknown causes.

📢 AFAD, fire department, health services, and police teams swiftly arrived at the scene.

🔹 One injured worker was treated on-site and discharged, while eight others were transported by ambulance to Hitit University Erol Olçok Training and Research Hospital and various private hospitals.

 

Official Statement

📢 Çorum Governor Ali Çalgan stated that the explosion was caused by air pressure.

💬 Governor Ali Çalgan:
"Nine of our colleagues working in the packaging unit were affected by this explosion. One worker was treated on-site and discharged. Seven workers are in good condition and expected to be discharged soon. However, one worker suffered third-degree burns and is in serious condition."

📢 Authorities have launched an investigation, and security measures around the factory have been tightened.
