INTERNATIONAL NEWS > A sanitation worker lost his life in Isparta after becoming trapped in a garbage collection truck in what has been described as a workplace fatality.

The incident occurred while municipal sanitation workers were carrying out waste collection duties. During the operation, one of the workers became caught in the compression mechanism of the garbage truck and suffered fatal injuries. Emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene after colleagues reported the accident.

Despite the intervention of emergency responders, the worker was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident, including whether occupational safety measures and equipment protocols had been properly implemented.

The incident once again reignited concerns over workplace safety conditions faced by sanitation workers and municipal employees, particularly those operating heavy machinery under hazardous conditions. Labor advocates emphasized that preventable workplace fatalities continue to highlight systemic deficiencies in occupational health and safety practices.
