The workers, members of the Independent Mine Workers’ Union, had set out from Eskişehir and walked approximately 180 kilometers to make their demands heard. They state that they have long been deprived of their wages and legal entitlements, and that they will not abandon their struggle until their rights are secured.
Upon reaching Ankara, the miners emphasized that their struggle is not only their own but also a broader fight for labor rights. Calling for solidarity, they invited the public to stand with them, stressing that collective support is crucial for achieving justice.
The workers aim to bring their demands directly to the relevant ministries, particularly the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. They reiterated that they will continue their actions until concrete steps are taken to address their grievances
