28-year-old farmer Serhat Sütpak lost his life in Hilvan, Urfa, after being caught in a cotton picking machine while cleaning it. Sütpak, who was reported to have been married just a month ago, died at the scene. An official investigation into the incident has been launched.

The occupational fatality occurred in the rural Çatak Neighbourhood of Hilvan district in Şanlıurfa. Serhat Sütpak, who worked as a farmer, was cleaning the cotton harvesting machine when, for a reason yet to be determined, he was caught by its moving parts.
Following notification by other workers nearby, health, fire department, and gendarmerie teams were quickly dispatched to the scene. The teams successfully extracted Sütpak from where he was trapped and handed him over to the medical personnel. Upon inspection, it was determined that the young farmer Serhat Sütpak had succumbed to his injuries.
The tragic circumstance of the deceased
Sütpak’s body was transferred to the Şanlıurfa Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
