The accident occurred in the Savur district of Mardin province, where the worker had climbed an electricity pole to repair a fault in the power line. During the operation, he came into contact with a high-voltage current, resulting in critical injuries.

Emergency responders transported the injured worker to hospital, where he was placed in intensive care. Despite sustained medical treatment, he succumbed to his injuries eight days later.
