Workers dismissed from Almer Textile for joining the union have won their legal struggle after months of court proceedings.

The workers, who were employed at Almer Textile where the Textile, Knitting and Clothing Workers’ Union (TEKSİF) has been carrying out an organizing campaign, had been dismissed after becoming union members. They stated that they were unfairly and unlawfully fired because of their union affiliation.

Following a 14-month legal battle, the courts ruled in favor of the dismissed workers and ordered the employer to pay union compensation. The workers emphasized that while they had secured their legal rights, the employer’s anti-union stance remained a serious issue and highlighted the broader struggle for freedom of organization in workplaces.

Union representatives described the decision as an important victory for labor rights, stressing that the ruling sends a strong message against union-busting practices. They also called on workers in similar situations to continue defending their rights through collective struggle and legal means.
