The Turkish State Meteorological Service has issued a “yellow code” weather warning for five provinces, forecasting significant snowfall and cold weather, according to the latest forecast report.
The service’s weather bulletin states that falling temperatures will cause precipitation to fall as snow in several regions. In particular, Artvin, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Rize, and Trabzon are expected to see snow mixed with rain, especially at higher elevations. Meteorologists also anticipate below-freezing temperatures during the morning and nighttime hours.
Officials have urged local residents and travelers to take precautions against rapid temperature drops and changing weather conditions, emphasizing the importance of staying informed about updated forecasts and alerts.
Icy Roads and Frost: Snowfall in the affected areas may lead to ice formation and frost, increasing the risk of hazardous driving conditions. Authorities have urged drivers to travel carefully and maintain control.
Preparedness Measures: Municipal and highway maintenance teams are reportedly continuing preparations to respond to possible disruptions caused by snow and cold temperatures.
