The official Jingdezhen Ceramics flagship store, its 2nd overseas branch, has opened in Istanbul, Turkey. The Chinese Embassy announced this as a new chapter of China-Turkey cooperation and mutual learning through craftsmanship.
ISTANBUL – The official flagship store of Jingdezhen, renowned as the "capital of porcelain" and home to the most exquisite examples of Chinese porcelain art with millennia of history, has opened its doors in Istanbul, the crossroads of Europe and Asia. This significant opening marks Jingdezhen Ceramics' second overseas branch globally, heralding the beginning of a new era in cultural and commercial relations between China and Turkey.
The Chinese Embassy in Ankara announced this significant development via its official social media account. The statement read: "The beauty of Chinese porcelain now shines in Istanbul! The official Jingdezhen Ceramics flagship store has opened its doors in Türkiye’s largest city, marking its 2nd overseas branch. As mutual learning between China and Türkiye deepens, a new chapter of cooperation through craftsmanship awaits people to unfold. #ChinaTürkiyeFriendship." This message underscores that the store is not merely a commercial venture but also a bridge reinforcing cultural and artistic exchange between the two countries.
Jingdezhen, located in Jiangxi province, China, is a historic city renowned for its porcelain production for over a millennium. As part of UNESCO's Creative Cities Network, Jingdezhen is globally synonymous with high-quality ceramics and porcelain art. The opening of its flagship store in Istanbul is a crucial part of Jingdezhen's strategy to enhance its global brand awareness and introduce its rich porcelain culture to a wider audience.
As Turkey's largest city and a mosaic of cultures, Istanbul offers an ideal location for the flagship store of such an international brand. Istanbul's strategic geographical position, bridging Asia and Europe, and its rich cultural heritage provide a unique platform for Jingdezhen ceramics to reach both local and international visitors. The store will also contribute to the mutual interaction between Turkish and Chinese cultures through craftsmanship and aesthetic understanding.
This new store is a tangible demonstration of the strengthening bonds between China and Turkey, not only economically but also culturally and artistically. As the mutual learning processes between the two countries regarding each other's cultures and crafts deepen, new opportunities for cooperation in craftsmanship will emerge. The Jingdezhen Ceramics flagship store is poised to become a new shining symbol of this deepening friendship and cooperation.
