A new collective bargaining agreement has been signed between Tekgıda-İş Union and Banvit. The deal brings significant gains for employees while strengthening industrial peace and productivity in the food sector.
A new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) has been signed between the Tekgıda-İş Union and Banvit, a giant in Türkiye's food sector, after negotiations that began in January successfully concluded. This historic agreement brings significant gains to Banvit employees, in line with current economic and social conditions, while reinforcing sustainable industrial peace in the workplace.
As a testament to the strong labor-management dialogue that has continued for years, the Tekgıda-İş Union and Banvit A.Ş. management, despite challenging economic conditions, acted with a spirit of compromise to sign the new-term collective bargaining agreement. The signing ceremony, held at the union's headquarters, saw broad participation, once again highlighting the importance of the agreement for all parties.
The union was led by General President Mustafa Türkel and General Secretary İbrahim Ören at the meeting. Key branch presidents, including Adana Branch President İbrahim Sani Gökmen, Bandırma Branch President Şefik Kayhan, and Turgutlu Branch President Anıl Paspas, were present. Also attending were Bandırma Branch Secretary Ersel Özgüner, Bandırma Branch Financial Secretary Ebru Alpsu, Bandırma Branch Organization Secretary Samet Kızık, and Bandırma Branch Education Secretary Aytek Geben. Turgutlu Branch Secretary Sonbahar Başkocaman, Turgutlu Branch Financial Secretary Mustafa Çetin, Assistant General Secretary Lawyer Nilgün Çelik Türkmen, and Turgutlu Branch Staff Yasemin Gülmez were also part of the delegation. Workplace representatives Mehmet Tekdemir, Mehmet Yakışır, and Rahman Çapar directly conveyed the demands of their members to the negotiation table.
Representing the employer were top executives including Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Director Gökçen Aslan Özşar, Human Resources and Industrial Relations Manager Recep Toktaş, Operations Director Erdal Elmas, Finance Director Levent Aytimur, Factory Director Yavuz Yadigar, and Legal and Corporate Relations Director Miray Ilıksoy Baran. The participation of Lawyer Nazif Karataş, Labor Law Partner from Nazalı Law Firm, Lawyer Selin Taşdemir, and TÜGİS General Secretary Altay Özgür, indicated that the negotiations proceeded on a comprehensive and legal basis.
Thanks to the conciliatory approaches of both parties, "good gains" were achieved for the members, in line with current economic and social conditions. These gains are expected to increase employee motivation by preserving their purchasing power against rising living costs. Collective bargaining agreements not only regulate wages and social rights but also serve as a crucial tool for fostering workplace peace, productivity, and mutual trust.
The Tekgıda-İş Union extended its best wishes for the new collective bargaining agreement to its members and to the entire Tekgıda-İş and Banvit family. This agreement is regarded as an important indicator that labor-management relations in Türkiye's food sector can be conducted on a healthy foundation, and that compromise for mutual benefit is indeed possible.
