Memur-Sen held its 42nd Provincial Representatives Meeting, gathering delegates from 81 provinces, to prepare for the 8th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement. The meeting focused on field expectations, service branch proposals, and the demands of women, disabled, and retired public employees.
ANKARA – Memur-Sen Confederation convened its 42nd Provincial Representatives Meeting at its General Headquarters, with the participation of provincial chairpersons from 81 provinces, ahead of the upcoming 8th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) process. Chaired by President Ali Yalçın, the meeting thoroughly discussed the expectations of public employees and union demands.
Focus on Common Ground and Field Expectations
The main agenda item of the meeting was the 8th Term CBA process. Memur-Sen President Ali Yalçın, in his opening speech, highlighted the importance of the meeting, stating that a broad consultation and consensus-building process was conducted based on economic data, expectations, goals, regional threats, and market realities. Yalçın emphasized that they engaged in a participatory process by discussing field sentiments, public employees' expectations, and potential scenarios.
Special Provisions and Demands of Diverse Groups Evaluated
The meeting not only addressed general wage increases but also thoroughly discussed special demands concerning various segments of public employees, including:
"Determined to Increase Gains with Common Sense"
In a statement from Memur-Sen, it was declared, "We are determined to grow common sense with the contribution of our organization and to increase the gains of public employees." It was stressed that, as in every collective bargaining process and all decision-making stages, they acted with a social dialogue approach and diverse perspectives by coming together with the organization before the 8th Term Collective Bargaining process.
President Ali Yalçın extended his thanks to the General Chairpersons of the participating unions and the provincial chairpersons who came from all corners of Turkey to attend the 42nd Provincial Representatives Meeting. This meeting was recorded as an indicator of Memur-Sen's efforts to prepare for the 8th Term Collective Bargaining negotiations with a strong and common strategy.
