Memur-Sen's Commission for Persons with Disabilities held a program with Minister Vedat Işıkhan to address challenges faced by disabled public employees, advocating for an inclusive work environment and presenting solution-oriented proposals.
ANKARA – Problems encountered by disabled individuals working in public service were brought to the agenda at a program organized by Memur-Sen's Commission for Persons with Disabilities, attended by Minister of Labor and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan. Union representatives put forward solution proposals, with a strong emphasis on a collective will for an inclusive working environment.
The program, titled "Turkey Meetings / Research on Working Life for Disabled Individuals in Public Service," was organized by Memur-Sen's Commission for Persons with Disabilities and held with the participation of Minister of Labor and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan.
General presidents and executives of unions affiliated with the confederation also attended the program. During the event, issues faced by disabled public servants in their working lives were raised, and solution-oriented proposals were shared with the public.
Among the main topics discussed at the program were many structural issues, ranging from accessibility to working conditions, and from appointment processes to career planning. A collective struggle for a barrier-free public order was emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, Ahmet Dönmez, Head of Memur-Sen's Commission for Persons with Disabilities, and the commission members were thanked for their contributions. Participants concluded the program with the message, "Barriers are overcome with love and sensitivity."
