Work accident occurred in Istanbul: 1 person lost their life and 3 people were taken to the hospital in the fire that broke out during welding work. Click for the causes of the fire and the investigations conducted at the scene!
A fire broke out as a result of an explosion that occurred during a welding process in a motorcycle repair shop located in Seyrantepe neighborhood of Istanbul's Kağıthane district. In the fire, 1 person lost their life, and 3 people were injured, 1 of whom was in serious condition.
📌 The fire started around 2:30 PM in the motorcycle repair shop located on the first floor of a 4-story building in Seyrantepe Auto Industry Site.
📌 The explosion that occurred during the welding process caused the fire to spread rapidly.
📌 4 people affected by the smoke were trapped inside, and citizens in the surrounding area reported the situation to the fire, health, and police teams.
Oğuzhan Gündoğdu (31), who was in the repair shop during the fire, lost his life at the scene.
🔹 Mustafa G. (56), Cemal Ö. (58), and Ümit Ç. (39) were injured.
🔹 It was learned that the condition of Ümit Ç. is serious;
the injured were taken to the hospital after first aid at the scene.
Firefighting teams quickly intervened in the fire, brought the flames under control, and extinguished the fire.
🔹 Police teams took security measures in the surrounding area, and the prosecutor's office that came to the scene conducted investigations.
🔹 The cause of the fire is being investigated in detail, and the teams' work regarding the incident is ongoing.
